Alex Schultz is chief marketing officer and VP of Analytics at Meta, formerly Facebook, leading consumer marketing and product analytics globally. Alex brings nearly two decades of direct response marketing experience to his CMO role, and is responsible for the global consumer marketing organization, promoting Meta’s brands, products and services.
Alex also leads the analytics team (since 2015), and the internationalization team (since 2011). He pioneered the integration of product and direct response marketing at the company and has run some of the biggest, most effective online direct response campaigns in the company’s history, growing the Facebook app, Instagram and Messenger to over a billion users.
Alex is gay, uses he/him pronouns, and is the executive sponsor of Meta’s LGBTQ+ Employee Resource Group. He holds an M.Sc. in Natural Sciences from Magdalene College, Cambridge, specializing in experimental and theoretical Physics. Originally from London, he now lives in the San Francisco Bay Area.
