Loredana Crisan

Loredana Crisan is the head of Messenger at Meta. In this role, Loredana leads her team in developing innovative experiences for Messenger’s more than one billion users and pushing the boundaries in modern-day communication. Previously, Loredana was the VP of Meta’s messaging experiences, leading the strategy and launch of the new Messenger experience on Instagram, including cross-app communication, and the introduction of new expression and safety features in Messenger’s end-to-end encrypted surfaces. She also led Messenger's design, brand and research teams who were responsible for Messenger’s redesign and rebranding in 2018 and 2020. Prior to Messenger, Loredana led brand and mobile design at Indiegogo where she spearheaded the release of Indiegogo's native apps as well as the launch of its charitable fundraising site, Generosity. Loredana grew up in Romania, and she studied piano and music composition at the National Music University in Bucharest.
