Stephane Kasriel, Head of Commerce and Financial Technologies

Stephane Kasriel is the head of Commerce and Financial Technologies at Meta. He oversees all commerce and fintech work across Meta’s technologies and platforms. He joined Meta, then called Facebook, in 2020 as VP of Payments.

Stephane was previously CEO of Upwork, where he led the company through its IPO in 2018. Before becoming CEO, he led Upwork’s product and engineering teams. Stephane was an early employee at PayPal serving as global head of mobile business development, global head of consumer products and managing director of PayPal France. He also held leadership roles at Fireclick and Zong, and was a founder of Fireclick.

Stephane has played key roles in organizations including the World Economic Forum and the California Governor’s Future of Work Commission. He holds an MBA from INSEAD, a MS from Stanford in Computer Science and a BS from Ecole Polytechnique in France.
